VANTAGEaudio reference systems Drain Wire Connections

VANTAGE Cable Flying Lead Connections, please also see: CJB - Common Junction Box - information page

Start by trying the following combinations:

Initially start with the flying leads NOT connected. Keep the spade lug isolated by just loosely wrapping the drain wire around the cable, secure with a cable tie if necessary

******

Then try the second combination after you have had a good listen. In this case CONNECT both the left and right channel flying lead(s) to the pre-amp signal ground terminal.

******

Again after some extended listening try the third combination. In this case connect the left and right channel flying lead(s) to each other with a small nut/bolt/washer assembly. DO NOT connect to the pre-amp signal ground terminal

******

Once again after a good listen try the fourth combination. Keeping the left and right channel flying lead(s) connected to each other, Connect a single drain wire of suitable length from the nut/bolt/washer assembly to the pre-amp signal ground terminal

******

Listen when trying these combination for changes in imaging and detail retrieval as well as soundstage width and depth. Do not try too many changes and combinations at once as this will only confuse and lead to a lot of head scratching..! Relax and take your time and make it an enjoyable experience, especially accompanied with a nice glass of wine..!

There is also an optional VANTAGE 'bShield' coupler block and Common Junction Box available which can further improve cable performance. Please ask your VANTAGE dealer for more information

New VANTAGE cables are given a partial "burn-in" at time of manufacture but will still continue to improve their performance as they "age"
